First there was Apple Music's Carpool Karaoke, and now James Corden's other Late Late Show spin-off is ready to hit US TV.

Corden's popular rap battle segments go primetime when Drop the Mic premieres on TBS on Tuesday, May 2 at 10pm ET – with some big names attached as hosts.

Calling the action weekly as four celebrities from the worlds of sport, TV, music and movies battle for hip-hop supremacy will be the Wu-Tang Clan's Method Man and model Hailey Baldwin.

Nobody's more qualified to judge rap battles than Method Man, but it's actually the studio audience who will be crowning a winner each week on Drop the Mic.

Corden's Late Late Show producer Ben Winston revealed the big news: "Method Man and Hailey Baldwin are the perfect hosts for our show. Two talented, funny, great people on a show that we hope will get everyone talking – we can't wait to get started."

In case you're unfamiliar, it's worth checking out some wicked Drop the Mic battles featuring Cara Delevingne and Usain Bolt – or the all-time classic where Anne Hathaway destroyed Corden:

Corden won't be regularly appearing on Drop the Mic, but we expect him to make special appearances just like he's doing with his Carpool Karaoke series.

The Carpool Karaoke series is coming exclusively to Apple Music worldwide and has lined up Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, John Legend and Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande and Seth MacFarlane, and Will Smith and, of course, Corden behind the wheel.

Drop the Mic will have to land some major A-listers to live up to those awesome Carpool Karaoke pairings. Watch James Corden and Kevin Hart go head-to-head on Drop the Mic below:
