James Martin teams up with ASDA to create a delicious Christmas Cheesecake with a twist

James Martin has upped the stakes this Christmas, teaming up with ASDA to serve up a series of indulgent festive recipes from roast turkey with gravy to spiced candied walnuts. The Saturday Kitchen star and Sweet cookbook author has offered up a showstopping Christmas, revealing his secrets to a mouth-watering Christmas Cheesecake topped with ASDA's award-winning Extra Special Macarons.

It comes as no surprise that James has picked these delicious macarons, which were crowned the winner of the BBC Good Food Awards 'Sweet Bites' trophy – one of the many awards picked up by the supermarket for their quality food. Not only do they come in eye-catching pastel hues and melt in your mouth, but at a budget-friendly £3 you won't need to break the bank for quality this Christmas.

Ingredients

125g ASDA Ginger Nuts, crushed
400g ASDA Original Soft Cheese
200ml ASDA Crème Fraiche
400ml ASDA Fresh Double Cream
Seeds from 2 ASDA Chosen By You Vanilla Pods
100g caster sugar
250g ASDA Extra Special Macaron Selection

Method

1. Sprinkle the crushed biscuits into the base of a 23cm loose-bottom tin.

2. Whisk the cream cheese, crème fraîche, cream vanilla seeds and sugar until thick and creamy. Pour over the base. Chill for one hour.

3. Remove from the tin and arrange the macarons on top before serving.
