James May BROKE His Arm While Filming The Grand Tour

James May broke his arm while filming Amazon’s new motoring show The Grand Tour.

The former Top Gear co-host – who has reunited with colleagues Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond on the new show – wasn’t caught up in a car crash or daring stunt, but rather took a serious tumble out of a pub instead.

Speaking at the Edinburgh International TV Festival, executive producer Andy Wilman revealed that the presenter, 53, phoned him the night before filming started to inform him of the accident that occurred during a night out.

“James fell over the night before filming, coming out of a pub,” he told the crowd. “He rang me up and said, “I’ve broken my arm.” His car was automatic so we stuck him on Eurostar, pumped him full of drugs and left him to it.”

He jokingly added: “[James] did more damage to it because he had to keep on going but he’s falling to bits anyway. We are not in Usain Bolt territory with that body.”

Wilman also shared clips of the forthcoming series with the audience at the event – giving prospective viewers an idea of what they can expect from the trio’s new venture.

Highlights reportedly included scenes of Clarkson, 56, trying to get to grips with a jet ski and testing out some luxury vehicles, including a Rolls Royce and a Porsche.

“Like them or loathe them, they are still doing their thing,” the producer added with a ‘business as usual’ attitude.

The Grand Tour will air on Amazon Prime this autumn, but no exact dates have been revealed yet – so watch this space!
