James May confirms his Our Man In... series has been cancelled
The TV presenter has confirmed to Yahoo UK that his travel series has ended after three seasons
James May has confirmed to Yahoo UK that his Prime Video travel series Our Man In... has been cancelled after three seasons.
The TV presenter best known for The Grand Tour and Top Gear went on solo adventures for the series, which saw him travel to Japan, Italy and India to give viewers a different look into the countries. May tells Yahoo UK that Prime Video simply 'didn't want' to commission more after three seasons, which aired in 2020, 2022 and January this year respectively.
May, who is next set to appear in the Quest series James May and the Dull Men, spoke of his future plans now that The Grand Tour is finished, and said of the travel show: "Well Our Man In... is actually finished, they don't want any more of that, so I won't be doing that. But that does take you away from home for a long time, which I wasn't so keen on these days anyway.
"I think the thing that appeals to me in these sort of more mature years of my life is arts and craft really, I want to make things, play musical instruments, and look at paintings. So anything that involves that I'm very up for, and it may be a bit more of this [show, James May and the Dull Men].

"This is very much the first series I think if they want some more of it we will ramp it up a bit, maybe, and spend a bit more time on some of these ideas and make them more thoroughly."
May goes on: "Things are very much a lash up in this one, we cobbled them together to see if the idea works. It might be worth refining some of them a bit, making them nice and doing a proper job, as Sim[eon Oakley, who joins May after working with him on James May's Man Lab] would say, instead of rushing it."
When Yahoo UK lamented the decision to cancel his Our Man In... series, May gave a blunt summary of his thoughts on the matter: "Thank you. Well, they just didn't want it anymore, miserable b*****ds."
James May and the Dull Men sees the presenter create inventions inspired by the Dull Men's Club group on Facebook, who try to come up with useful ways of solvingeveryday problems. May's inventions range from trying to cook a full course meal in a washing machine, making a bench seat that covers itself when it rains, and a DIY pot hole filler.
James May and The Dull Men is launching on Quest on Tuesday, 5 November at 9pm and will be available to stream on Discovery+.
