James Norton has revealed his hair transformation, with the actor sporting a shaved head.

The star, who has appeared in Happy Valley and McMafia, took to Instagram Stories on Monday (January 6) to unveil his new look, referencing his latest project – Playing Nice – as he wrote: “The response to Playing Nice has been insane and wonderful. Thank you. Also I shaved my head.”

The four-part ITV series, which also stars Niamh Algar, James McArdle and Jessica Brown Findlay, tells the story of two couples who face a horrifying dilemma after they learn their toddlers were accidentally switched at birth.

“That was the hook which we were so excited about,” Norton said of the central premise. “When we first read the book [by JP Delaney], there was this amazing question – ‘if you found out your child was not your own, how would you react?’

“Every time we mention the hook to anyone, they mention the idea of children being swapped. And it happens weird amounts, so it’s not that far fetched unfortunately,” he continued, with Algar adding that the central plot device serves as a “bombshell.”

“It's going to strain relationships,” she said. “It’s going to cause this internal turmoil within [the characters]. It is that thing of going: ‘Oh God, what would I do in that situation or how would I react?”

The interview, which was posted on This Morning's Instagram account, received several comments from fans, with one user writing of the show: “Binged watched it last night. So good.” “Stressful to watch for me,” a second user added, with a third writing: “Binge watched, wow so good.”
