Jamie Dornan's The Tourist proved to be a massive hit on the iPlayer over the festive period.
The BBC has released streaming figures from the week of December 27 through January 3, where the debut of thriller series The Tourist pushed iPlayer to its biggest festive day ever on January 2 with 22 million streams across the service.
The first series of The Tourist was accessed on the iPlayer 8.9 million times over the holiday period, falling a little short of overall leader Happy New Year Live's incredible 10.5 million streams.
In terms of individual episodes, A Very British Scandal's new series led the week with 2.3 million streams for episode 1, while The Tourist's own debut episode drew 1.6 million streams.
It's no surprise The Tourist has been binged so quickly on iPlayer since its premise entices viewers to continuously keep theorising over the identity of Jamie Dornan's mysterious lead character.
His character, known simply as The Man, must discover who was behind a car crash that left him with amnesia after waking up in an Australian hospital without any idea about his past.
Given the show's success on iPlayer, BBC bosses are probably thrilled writers Harry and Jack Williams have said they're keen to come back for a second series.
"I would love to make this show again with these people," Harry told RadioTimes.com. "I'm not entirely sure it's possible. I love the tone, I love the world. It's been our lives for three years and we've been very, very involved with it, more so than any other show.
"We've loved every minute. Normally you're sick of it by this point having watched 900 cuts of one episode but I still love it and I'd love to do it again."
The Tourist, A Very British Scandal and Happy New Year Live are all available on the iPlayer now.
