Jamie Murray admitted it was "nice" to win a Queen's Club title despite his brother's shock exit from the tournament this week after the 31-year-old and Bruno Soares became the 2017 men's doubles champions.

Murray and his Brazilian partner Soares had to first finish off their semi-final clash against Marin Cilic, who lost the single's final to Feliciano Lopez, and Marcin Matkowski on Sunday before the pair played Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the final later the same day.

There they claimed a straight sets (6-2, 6-3) win over the French pair to claim the doubles' title and make Murray the first British doubles winner at Queen's since Jeremy Bates in 1990.

After the match, Murray admitted he was delighted with his title haul despite having to witness his brother Andy suffer a shock elimination from the Aegon Championships in the first round.

When asked about the attention being on him instead of Andy this year, Jamie replied: "That was unfortunate for the tournament that Andy didn't play so well.

"He's won it five times though but it's nice that I could win it one year."

The win comes as Jamie and Andy's mother, Judy, admitted the pair could team up to play doubles tennis at Wimbledon in the future.

"I think winning the Davis Cup was a huge, huge moment because they did it together. It was a really special moment for me too," she told BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek.

"I'm pretty sure before they get to the end of their careers they're going to have a crack at Wimbledon doubles together.

"At the moment while they're happy and healthy they're quite happy doing their own thing - but I'm pretty sure you'll see them playing Wimbledon together before they end their careers."
