Jamie O'Hara doubles down on Archie Gray stance in rant against Tottenham board
Jamie O'Hara has doubled down on his criticism of Tottenham for signing Archie Gray from Leeds United. Gray earned his £40m move to North London after starring at Elland Road last term.
The 18-year-old blossomed at right-back and in central midfield, racking up over 50 appearances for the Whites in his breakthrough season. Many Whites supporters were left heartbroken after homegrown talent Gray departed United in July.
But outspoken talkSPORT pundit O'Hara criticised Spurs' summer recruitment drive in the wake of their 1-0 loss to Arsenal. Posting on social media account X, O'Hara wrote: "Give me Aaron Lennon, Huddlestone, Keane, Defoe, Van de vaart over any of these any day of the week. We sign players from Bournemouth, Burnley Leeds and Forest then expect Championship results. #spurs. Heads gone."

The former Tottenham and Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder again criticised Spurs' hierarchy for their summer business earlier today. He told talkSPORT: “Have we brought in top players? [Dominic] Solanke, one good season at Bournemouth. Hasn’t scored yet. He’s had one good season at Bournemouth and we signed him for £ 60 million.
"Brennan Johnson [is a] good player, a young player, Nottingham Forest, done the business of Forest. We signed him for £50 million. He looks miles off it, miles off it. And then I look at him and go, Archie Gray, good player. He’s from Leeds. It’s a Championship player. And we signed [Wilson] Odobert from Burnley.
“Any danger of Spurs, who think they’re a massive club, and Daniel Levy’s built this big, shiny stadium, and only it’s enjoyable to go and watch when Beyoncé’s on.
"Have we signed a top player from Barcelona or Atletico Madrid, or are we going to get someone who’s actually at the level of where we want to be in the Champions League? Because we don’t sign anyone from any big clubs, but expect the boys we sign to perform like they’re at a Champions League team. We ain’t good. Simple as that. You can play good football, but you can’t put the ball in the back of it.”
