Jamie Oliver Declares War On Olympics Sponsors Coke And McDonald’s
Jamie Oliver is on a crusade to stop Coca-Cola and McDonald’s sponsoring the Olympics.
The TV chef thinks the two global giants should do more to encourage children to live healthy lifestyles.
Ahead of this summer’s Olympics in Rio, Oliver, below, wants companies to raise nutritional and ethical standards.
The 40-year-old is quoted in the Daily Star saying: “It’s probably my most audacious thing I’ve dreamt up.
“And I don’t know if I have what it takes to pull it off.”
The dad-of-four, pictured below launching his healthy living Food Revolution Day in 2014, insists an outright ban on the two companies is not his goal.
But he admitted he was “depressed” the only food and drink available inside the Olympic Park in London four years ago was McDonald’s food, Coca-Cola products or snacks from chocolate firm Cadbury’s.
He said: “Nobody can be proud of the London Olympics from that perspective.”
