Jana Kramer calls co-parenting on Christmas 'unfair': 'I'm gonna continue this cry and then count my blessings'

Jana Kramer is getting real about co-parenting.

On Saturday, the 38-year-old actress shared several sweet Christmas photos of her and her two kids Jolie Rae, 5, and Jace Joseph, 3, whom she shares with ex-husband Mike Caussin. With the finalization of their divorce in July, the couple agreed upon shared custody where Caussin would get their kids 125 days a year.

This year made it the first time Kramer would only spend half of Christmas day with her children and she used the caption to open up about all the emotions she experienced during this change.

"TO EVERY MOM OR DAD THAT JUST HAD TO SAY GOODBYE TO THEIR KIDS ON CHRISTMAS YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN THE CRY FEST, FEELING ANGRY, SAD, ALL THE ABOVE," she wrote. "THEY SAY THE FIRST YEAR IS THE HARDEST BUT I CAN’T IMAGINE ANY CHRISTMAS BEING EASY SAYING GOODBYE. 12PM TICKED DOWN LIKE A TICKING BOMB….AND AS I SIT AROUND ALL THE TOYS IN THE LIVING ROOM I’M [heartbroken]."

She praised other parents that have been through this situation calling them "insanely strong" and added that she was taking advice.

"THIS SUCKS AND I THINK THE WORD I KEEP GOING TO IS JUST UNFAIR. TO EVERYONE MISSING A LOVED ONE THIS YEAR MY HEART IS WITH U. I’m gonna continue this cry and then count my blessings because I know so many are without loved ones and I do realize how grateful I am so I’m gonna try to focus on that. But I share to know I’m not alone too so comment below…any helpful tips?" Kramer asked.

Fans flooded the comments to support the star and share their own experiences with co-parenting.

"Been doing it for 8 years. It doesn’t get easier but the tears lessen," a fan wrote.

"Embrace the time you do have together and make your own traditions to look forward to! My girl is almost 4 and it is our 3rd Christmas sharing but I can’t wait to get her later cuz Santa is coming back for her tonight," a commenter noted.

"I remember the first time we had to do it and thankfully we are in a much better place now, but it is always heartbreaking!" another said.

"You’ve got this mama. It never got easier. Do presents the night before if they leave the next day and only a few Christmas morning. Hugs," a user added.

Last month on her Whine Down podcast, Kramer admitted that she was not looking forward to Christmas this year.

"We used to always go out and we would dress up together as a family and now it’s like, oh it’s different. And then I was like, oh god, so is Christmas. I don’t even know if I want to put up decorations because then that’s just gonna make me sad," she said. "I’m gonna be honest, I feel like even thinking about it I get so emotional — thinking about the first holiday being divorced and being single."
