Yahoo News Jane McDonald opens up about fiancé Ed Rothe's death in emotional Loose Women interview
Jane McDonald has emotionally opened up about the death of her fiancé Ed Rothe on Loose Women.
The singer and presenter, who returned to the ITV daytime show today (November 11), spoke on her "tough" year after Ed passed away following a lung cancer diagnosis.
Jane was visibly emotional from the start of the interview, tearfully apologising as the show's stars welcomed her back. Host Kaye Adams then told viewers that she wanted to speak about Ed because he was a "wonderful man".

"I don't want to feel sad for the rest of my life, because that wasn't Ed," Jane admitted. "Ed was golden. He was smiling, he was beautiful.
"I got to do the first interview, and I couldn't be with better people here," she added.
"It's been tough, but there's so many of us out there who have been through this, and my heart goes out to you all, because it's been a tough 18 months for so many of us."
Jane went on to recall her happy memories with Ed, having met originally as teenagers before re-connecting in 2008, with fellow panellist Carol McGiffin suggesting "he was really a Loose Woman".
The singer described her time with him as "13 years of absolute bliss", and that she was "grateful" for the time she had with him.
"I'm not good at being sad," Jane continued. "I'm not good at this and I'm not good at crying.
"So everyday when I wake up and get that thud like someone's just hit me, I think, 'Are you going to go down the dark path where you've been for the last year, or are you going to be grateful for everything you've got in your life, and grateful for the time you had him and remember him how I want to remember him?'"
Jane also said she was grateful to be the only one taking care of him during lockdown, noting: "Because it was lung cancer they were so afraid of him getting COVID that I took over everything. And that was a privilege."
Jane's Instagram account confirmed Ed's sad passing earlier this year, saying: "He had been battling lung cancer for the last few months.
"We would like to thank everyone for all their help and support during this very difficult time, especially the NHS staff and the wonderful team at The Wakefield Hospice."
