Jane the Virgin and Black Lightning change nights

From Digital Spy

The CW has released its mid-season schedule, with Black Lightning and the final season of Jane the Virgin both moving to different nights.

Although it doesn't have an exact premiere date yet, Jane the Virgin will now air on Wednesdays in the spring following the season finale of All American, while Black Lightning will move to Mondays after Arrow.

Jane the Virgin was renewed for its fifth and final season in May, with the show set to premiere in early 2019.

For months, there were rumours that Jane would be cancelled before its fifth season, and fans were nervous that they wouldn't get to see the conclusion of season four's major cliffhanger.

However, the show was picked up for a fifth run, with its star Gina Rodriquez already basically confirming season five to be the last.

Meanwhile, The CW officially ordered a second season of Black Lightning in April, which started airing new episodes in October, following the fifth season premiere of The Flash.

The season 2 premiere of Black Lightning brought in a massive twist as Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) revealed his alter-ego to one of his closest confidantes. His identity was foiled by Inspector Henderson (Damon Gupton), leading to the superhero taking off his mask in front of him.

Black Lightning premieres in its new slot on Monday, January 21.

Black Lightning airs on The CW in the US and is available on Netflix UK now. Jane The Virgin also airs on The CW, with it becoming available on Netflix UK a day later.
