Janey Godley pays moving tribute to husband on 44th wedding anniversary

Janey Godley has shared an emotional tribute to her husband Sean Storrie on their 44th wedding anniversary, as she took to social media to share a heartfelt post alongside throwback snaps.

The Scottish comedian took to Twitter to express her love and reminisce over the years the couple have spent together through a throwback photo from their wedding in 1980, following up with an image of the young couple from their early days.

"44 years ago two teens got married -all my love Mr Storrie happy anniversary," Janey, 63, wrote alongside the post which she shared with her loyal legion of fans. The Glasgow-born personality later posted a picture featuring their hands clasped together, captioned "anniversary hugs on the ward".

It comes as Janey confirmed earlier this week the devastating news that she is now receiving end-of-life care after her battle with ovarian cancer which was first diagnosed in 2021.

Despite undergoing chemotherapy, she recently announced that treatment options had been exhausted and she would be entering a hospice.

The 63-year-old was forced to put an abrupt halt to her UK tour following advice from doctors after he illness became worse. Taking to social media on Wednesday, she shared her health update, confessing to followers: "The chemo ran out of options, and I couldn't take anymore of it."

She added: "The cancer has spread, so it looks like this will be getting to near the end of it, and it's really difficult to speak about this and say it to people."

Highlighting the severity of her situation, Janey said: "It is devastating news, to know that I'm facing end of life but we all come to an end some time. I don't know how long I've got left before anybody asks, I'm not a tick tock, I just want you all to know that I appreciate all the love you've gave me."

She concluded with a sobering reminder: "Cancer affects one in two people and it's affected me."
