Described as her 'final tour', on Friday November 29, Janey's hearse will travel through her 'beloved festival home' of Edinburgh before making way to Glasgow, where her funeral service and cremation will take place on Saturday, November 30.

Following a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer, the iconic Glasgow comedian passed away on the morning of November 2 at The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow - surrounded by her family and friends.

On the Friday Janey's hearse will travel from Lawnmarket in Edinburgh, heading down the Royal Mile towards St Giles Cathedral where those attending will pause for reflection. The procession will carry on to Cockburn Street and Market Street before heading 'home' to Glasgow.

Janey's funeral service will take place at St Mary's Cathedral on Glasgow Great Western Road at 10am - the crematorium service will be private.

Prior to her death the much-loved comedian asked that no flowers be sent, however, that those celebrating her life donate to the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice or to a charity of their choice. She also requested that those attending wear bright colours rather than traditional funeral attire.

The touching post reads: "Hello friends. For the past few years of Ma's life it was important to her that she shared her journey with everyone, to offer support for others on the same path and to highlight the symptoms of ovarian cancer - all of course in her very singular Janey style, with laughter and candour.

"So many of you who have travelled with us on this journey wish to bid her a final farewell, so here's the details of my mum's final tour, in the two cities she loved with all her heart.

"Friday 29th November - Janey will have one last visit to Edinburgh - her beloved Festival Home. At 2.30pm, her hearse will travel from Lawnmarket, heading down the Royal Mile towards St Giles Cathedral, where we will pause for reflection. Then carry on to Cockburn Street, Market Street and home to Glasgow.

"Saturday 30th November - Janey's funeral service is at 10am at St Mary's Cathedral, Great Western Road, Glasgow. Hearse and coaches will leave the cathedral at 11.30am and proceed along Great Western Road towards the crematorium.

"The service at the crematorium will be private.

"Janey asked that no flowers be sent, but anyone who wants to contribute - no matter how small - please do so to the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice or a charity of your choice. She also asked that instead of traditional funeral attire that bright colours be worn to celebrate her life by those who wish to do so.

"The funeral directions taking care of Janey on her final journey: Steven and Katrina from Alexander Whitelaw and Company.

"Thanks again everyone for all the love and support - it has been greatly received and does help so much".
