Japanese Ski Region Receives Heavy Snowfall

Heavy snow hit Hakuba, a ski village in Japan’s Nagano Prefecture, on January 3, footage shows.

Hakuba Cortina Ski Resort recorded 35 cm (about 14 inches) of new snow at its summit, according to the resort’s Facebook page.

Heavy snowfall disrupted traffic in Tokamachi City, Tsunan Town, and Chuo Ward, Niigata City, according to local reports.
