Japan's Ito wins 2nd straight ski jumping World Cup meet

ZAO, Japan (AP) — Yuki Ito of Japan won her second consecutive women's ski jumping World Cup event on Saturday, edging overall leader Sara Takanashi by 0.8 points.

Ito, who won Friday's event, had jumps of 100 meters and 94.5 meters for a total of 227 points.

Takanashi, who had won five of six competitions this season before returning to Japan, had jumps of 99.5 meters and 94.5 meters for 226.2 points.

Norway's Maren Lundby was third with jumps of 100 and 92 meters for 221.1 points and Italy*s Manuela Malsiner was fourth with 219.4 points after jumps of 97 and 96 meters. Katharina Althaus of Germany finished fifth with 213.3 points.

Takanashi still leads the overall World Cup standings with 815 points, followed by Ito with 732 points and Lundby with 517 points.
