Jasmine Harman was visibly moved as she remembered her late colleague Jonnie Irwin on Loose Women. The much-loved Leicestershire presenter died earlier this year after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Jasmine, who presented A Place In The Sun alongside Jonnie, spoke movingly about him in an appearance on ITV's Loose Women in her first interview since his death. At times, she was seen to be visibly moved by an on-air tribute to Jonnie, reports the Mirror.

Jonnie, who was born in Bitteswell, near Lutterworth, died in February at the age of 50. It came after he had been diagnosed with lung cancer which had later spread to his brain.

In her interview, Jasmine opened up about Jonnie for the first time publicly since his passing. Overcome with emotion, she reflected on their friendship and shared moments from when they first met. As a montage of photographs played, Jasmine said: "Looking at these old photos chokes me up actually."

Looking back on their work together, Jasmine reminisced about their shared career milestones, noting that although they didn't always film together due to being in different locations, they would catch up at A Place In The Sun events. She said the pair grew to be great friends, even celebrating significant life events together, with Jonnie attending her wedding.

She said: "I met my husband on the show and when Jonnie met Jess, his lovely wife, I just remember thinking 'wow she is the one for him'. Then they had their lovely boys. And yes, it really is a hard time..."

Loose Women panellist Kaye Adams, who noticed the emotion in Jasmine's voice, said: "This is fresh and I totally appreciate this Jasmine. I mean it has only been a matter of months since Jonnie passed away and the loss of a friends. All losses are difficult, but the loss of a friend going back 20 years is a particular loss. I don't know, one reflects on their life."

Jasmine said: "Absolutely and I think you never know what's around the corner and I think Jonnie's situation, we can all take something from it."

The presenter then broke down in tears before she was consoled by Kaye and the rest of the Loose Women team. After regaining her composure, Jasmine said: "The outpouring of love for him has been amazing, so I want to thank all the people for their messages."

The emotional on-air tribute garnered much sympathy online. One said: "She isn't ready to talk about this situation." A second said: "Bless Jasmine.. this is too fresh and painful for her. She's a lovely lady and clearly had a very strong friendship with Jonnie."
