Actor Jason Lewis has sided with Sarah Jessica Parker in her ongoing spat with former co-star Kim Cattrall.

The Sex And The City actor – who played Smith Jerrod on the hit series – has declared that he falls down on the Carrie Bradshaw actress' side rather than on-screen love interest, Cattrall.

Talking to US news show KLTA 5, the actor said: “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all’ – which is the shadiest way you can say no comment.

“Listen, I would have to say that Sarah was always so lovely and such a consummate professional, and I think that people should remember their graciousness and the things that have been given to them.”

“I’m going to stop there because I’ve got nothing good to say,” he tailed off.

Keen to get a definitive answer, the anchor of the broadcast asked if, in simple terms, this meant he was “Team SJP”, to which he replied: “I might just have to say yeah, yeah. What a gracious lady; she was always so good to me.”

The 46-year-old starred as Smith in both the television series and the movie of the successful American drama.

Parker and Cattrall’s long-standing feud escalated last month after the former left a comment on condolence on Cattrall’s post as she grieved for her brother Chris.

Cattrall bit back on Instagram, posting: “My Mom asked me today “When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?” Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now.

“Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”
