Jason Momoa upstaged by his children as he leads haka at Aquaman premiere — and fans can't cope

Jason Momoa was upstaged by his children as he led the haka at the premiere of his latest film, Aquaman.

The Hawaiian actor, 39, made a splash as he performed Ka Mate – the Maori challenge most commonly performed by the All Blacks - with a support cast that included veteran New Zealand actor Temuera Morrison, who plays his father in the DC hit.

Momoa stormed onto the blue carpet in Los Angeles holding his character’s trident before chucking off his coat and rallying the group into position.

The former Game of Thrones star put on an intimidating display for photographers – but all eyes were on his children Lola, 11, and Nakoa, nine, who threw themselves into the routine.

Fans couldn’t get enough of his performance with one tweeting: “Jason Momoa is performing a haka on the carpet! Is this the best carpet ever?”

Another wrote: “Absolutely fab! Jason Momoa leading a haka at every red carpet premiere from now on is a must...”

A third joked: “If you watch Jason Momoa do the haka too many times you catch the pregnant.”

It’s not the first time Momoa has performed the Haka. He took a break from filming Aquaman in Australia last year to take part in the traditional dance with Auckland’s UFC team in support of his friend Mark ‘Super Samoan’ Hunt ahead of an MMA fight.

Momoa’s appearance at Wednesday night’s premiere was a family affair which also saw him accompanied by his mother Coni Momoa and his wife Lisa Bonet.

The couple packed on the PDA as they shared several kisses, with Momoa lifting Bonet up in the air for a hug.

He was also joined by his co-stars Nicole Kidman and Amber Heard, who plays his love interest in the super-hero film.

Momoa has waited five years for Aquaman to receive a standalone film having made appearances in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017’s Justice League.

Aquaman follows the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry as he gets caught between the surface world and Atlantis, where the residents are planning to revolt.
