Java Volcano Eruption Sends Tall Plume of Smoke Into the Morning Sky

Java’s Mount Merapi volcano erupted early on the morning of February 13, sending a plume of smoke more than 2000 metres into the air.

Indonesia’s geological disaster agency said the eruption near Yogyakarta occured at around 5am local time and recorded on a seismogram with an amplitude of 75mm.
