Jay McGuiness Says He’s Looking For Work After Strictly
Jay McGuiness may be one of four celebs vying for the Glitterball Trophy in the Strictly Come Dancing final tonight, but he’s already thinking about his next steps.
The former Wanted singer admits he has no work lined up beyond March 2016 after taking part on the upcoming Strictly tour.
Speaking to Yahoo Celebrity and other press, he said: “I took a year and a half off [before Strictly] just having fun. I don’t think I want to do that - I want to do something good, but I have no idea what that is.”
He then quipped, “Basically, seeking work!”
Meanwhile, fellow finalist Kellie Bright admitted she feels “broken” after juggling the hectic Strictly schedule with her equally unforgiving schedule on EastEnders.
She said, "I generally film EastEnders from 7am to whatever time we finish shooting, and I meet Kevin and we dance and dance and dance until I can’t stand up anymore.
“"It’s been exhausting but I’ve never complained about it because it’s something I wanted to do.
“Everyone’s had injuries. Everybody’s got aches and pains and pulls and strains. I do feel a bit broken. In a nice way!”
Fellow soap star Georgia May Foote also revealed that her dance partner Giovanni Pernice actually wanted her to be in the dance-off at least one week.
He felt that the shock of the bottom two would make her an even better dancer.
Giovanni said, “All the celebrities need to understand the good and bad feelings. If you want to win something you need to work hard - no pain, no gain.
“Being in the dance-off was fine for our journey.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight at 6.35pm on BBC One
