Jay Z is returning to the UK later this year to headline V Festival.

The rapper is topping the bill on Saturday August 19 in Weston Park, Birmingham, and on Sunday August 20 in Hylands Park, Essex.

Also headlining is P!nk, who is returning to the festival 10 years after first performing there.

Stormzy is also joining the line-up following the release of his debut album Gang Signs & Prayer, while Ellie Goulding, Craig David, and Dizzee Rascal are also set to perform.

Jay Z has had a quiet few years on the musical front, with his last album Magna Carta Holy Grail released in 2013.

In the meantime he has been running streaming service TIDAL – but the headline slot could be an indication that new music is in the pipeline.

Last year saw rumours that Jay might respond to Beyonce’s Lemonade album with his own record about his alleged infidelity, strongly hinted at in his wife’s work.

Rounding out the line-up announced so far are Rudimental, Jess Glynne, Pete Tong, George Ezra, Jason Derulo, Madness, Sean Paul, Sigma, James Arthur, Clean Bandit, Gorgon City, The Wombats, Anne-Marie, Hannah Wants, Krept & Konan, Jack Savoretti, JP Cooper, The Vamps, Jonas Blue, Scouting For Girls, Raye, and Calum Scott.

Tickets for V Festival are due to go on sale on Friday March 3 at 9am, costing £175.15 for a weekend ticket, or £97.90 for a day ticket.
