Jaylen Brown loses half a tooth in collision with Jayson Tatum

Jaylen Brown has a surprise Christmas gift for the tooth fairy. Well, half of one.

The Boston Celtics star exited Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks in the first quarter after taking a hard elbow to the face from teammate Jayson Tatum. Brown immediately grabbed his face in pain and headed to the locker room.

As Brown walked away, Celtics head coach Ime Udoka could be seen picking up the tooth off the floor in the vicinity of the injury. Minutes later, the Celtics confirmed Brown had chipped a tooth and was available to return.

The ABC broadcast delivered a close-up of Brown's face that showed he had lost a hefty portion of an upper incisor.

Brown was back in the game one quarter later, continuing a strong start for the Celtics against the defending champion Bucks. Unfortunately, what was once a 19-point lead for the Celtics eventually turned into a 117-113 loss.

Brown played the rest of the game, finishing with 25 points on 8-of-18 shooting with four rebounds and three assists.
