Jealous man guilty of fracturing ex's eye socket leaving her with a 'dent in her face'
A man who thought his girlfriend was having an affair hit her so hard she was left with a 'dent in her face'. Kane Williams, 36, from St Day, was charged with one count of grievous bodily harm with intent following the incident.
He denied the charge and went on trial at Truro Crown Court. The court heard the pair had a volatile relationship and on the day in question, he let himself into her home in Shortlanesend to "sort things out" after an argument.
Williams claimed that his former partner was drunk and threw a wine glass at him and tried to hit him with a wine bottle. But the jury found him guilty, with a majority of 10 to two.

The court heard how the couple had been in a relationship for two years. While Williams, who works in a slaughterhouse, had been kind to his girlfriend's three children, he got into an argument with the woman two nights before the attack when they all went out to the bowling alley in Truro.
He left her and her children stranded at the bowling alley having taken her bank card. The court heard that he turned up at her home that evening but left after being told he was not welcome. However, using his own key, he made his way into her home and into her bedroom where he slept on her bed.
In the morning, his victim found him there and became angry and told him to leave. Over the next two days Williams and the woman, exchanged text messages, with Williams threatening "to f**k her up" and also telling her "you ain't seen nothing yet" when asked "how nuts I can be"

The court heard how after Williams left the house, his victim's eldest daughter came into her room after being warned by her siblings that he had been in the house, and discovered what she described as a "dent in her face".
The next morning, the woman's best friend took her to A&E at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske when her eye looked out of place and her eye socket bone was the size of a plum. The woman received a double orbital fracture and had to have a metal plate inserted around her eye socket as a result of the incident.
The jury found Williams guilty by a majority of 10 to two. Williams, who is on conditional bail, will be sentenced at a hearing at Truro Crown Court on October 23.
