Jedward experience a spot of financial trouble

No wonder they’ve been trying to entice 90s warbler Dido back into the studio.

It turns out that Jedward, the lovable Irish twins who shot to fame in the X Factor all those years ago, are having a wee bit of financial bother.

24-year-old John and Edward Grimes’ Planet Jedward company has been hit by losses of over £200,000 in the past two years, and despite an appearance in Hollywood movie Sharknado 3 (us neither) and continuing to churn out their own inimitable brand of pop music, it seems the bottom’s dropped out of the Jedward market.

The Mirror claims the the duo made a loss of €104,447 last year, and an even bigger loss of €130,182 the previous tax year.

At the start of 2013, the the duo had €591,020 in the bank, but this has plummeted to just €18,631 at the end of last year.

The twins loaned an additional €51,646 to their Planet Jedward firm last year and were owed a total of €195,344 by their company at year end.

The boys’ run of bad luck is probably down to losing their record deal with Universal Music Group in 2013, and being forced to self-release and promote their own music through Planet Jedward Records.

It’s a tough job – but someone has to do it. Don’t they?

Let’s hope there’s enough money in the pot to keep the Jedward machine ticking over for a few more years yet.
