Like them or loathe them, Jedward are undoubtedly one of the most recognisable acts in The X Factor's history.

So with the announcement that Simon Cowell is planning an All Stars series of the show, surely the Irish twins are high on the list of possible past acts to return?

Well – according to them – bosses really want them back, as the pair spoke about the series on today's (April 25) Loose Women.

"Well I can tell everybody that they're trying desperately to get me and John," Edward claimed. "They've been emailing us."

"They definitely want us," John added. "I don't want to go back and rewind what we've already done, we've progressed, we've got our own songs. I don't want to go back and do Britney Spears or Ghostbusters."

While Jedward seem keen, stars that have already ruled themselves out of the new series include Rak-Su, Saara Aalto and Olly Murs.

During their interview, Jedward also opened up about the recent death of their mother after a long battle with cancer.

"It's been ongoing for the last five years, and our mum has passed," they said. "It just feels so weird because it's all you've ever known, and you want to call her and there's no-one there to call."

The X Factor is due to return later this year on ITV.
