Jeff Bezos Aboard Successful First Blue Origin Human Spaceflight

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and three passengers, including Bezos’s brother and the youngest and oldest astronauts to ever travel into space, boarded the New Shepard rocket for its first human flight on Tuesday morning, July 20, in Van Horn, Texas.

Footage shared by Blue Origin shows the craft heading to its launch site in West Texas and the four astronauts boarding it soon after.

Bezos was joined by his brother, Mark, by 82-year-old Wally Funk, and by 18-year-old Oliver Daemen.

The flight lasted 10 minutes and 10 seconds from start to finish. At its fastest, the rocket was ascending at a speed of 2,233 mph, Blue Origin said. Credit: Blue Origin via Storyful
