So it’s no surprise that the duo have teamed up for a new Amazon comedy series which will see them at odds with each other.
DeVito and Goldblum will play Arlo Finkelman and Matt Downey – a since disbanded iconic musical duo who are forced to reconcile despite a longstanding hatred for one another.
Created and written by The Simpson’s veteran Tim Long, the as of yet untitled production will feature plenty of irreverent humour from the two “incandescent idiots”.
The show will also focus on their larger-than-life wives, ex-wives, children, managers and friends, all of whom Amazon promises will be as “brilliant, infuriating, and frustratingly lovable” as Downey and Finkelman.
Imagine Entertainment partners Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo will step up as executive producers for the 30-minute show alongside Goldblum, DeVito and DeVito’s son Jake.
Fans of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia shouldn’t fear that DeVito’s new commitment will see him leave the show, as broadcaster FXX confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that he’s still “fully committed”.
There’s no word as yet on when production for the new Amazon Original series will begin or when the show will air.
