It seems Wicked star Jeff Goldblum has a mouthwatering musical collaboration in the pipeline.

A keen singer and pianist, who released an album with The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra just last month titled Plays Well With Others, Goldblum stopped by The One Show yesterday (April 6) when the subject of Ariana Grande was brought up by co-host Gethin Jones.

"You've been hanging out with her quite a lot recently. Tell us why..." the Welshman said, after Goldblum finished tickling the ivory in the studio.

"I wouldn't say hanging out, but... because she and Cynthia Erivo play the two witches in the movie version of Wicked, you know that show? I love that show so much, it makes me weep like a baby," shared the actor.

"I'm the Wizard of Oz in this movie. I'm not allowed to talk about it too much but people know that already, anyway, on the set we were hanging out a lot because there were long days of shooting.

"Inbetween takes I couldn't help myself, I just kept singing and they would sing, and we'd sing together, and you know, it was a dreamy idea that we could do what we've done with other singers and do a record with them."

Pushed for confirmation of a possible album, the Jurassic Park favourite smiled: "Well, we talked about it. We might be cooking up something, it would be a dream of mine."

After Grande's last studio album Positions arrived all the way back in 2020, and Erivo's Ch. 1 Vs. 1 reached Number 77 in the US charts a year later, their long-awaited return to the music scene could have quite the twist.

Wicked: Part One is due to be released on November 27, 2024. Part Two is scheduled to be released in 2025.
