Jenna Coleman pregnant with her first child
Jenna Coleman, the Emmerdale and Doctor Who actress, has revealed she is expecting her first baby, unveiling her bump at an exhibition hosted at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire.
The 38-year-old, wearing a green and white floral dress cradled her bump with two hands while posing for photographs at the country estate on Wednesday.
The reveal follows months of speculation that she married director Jamie Childs, who worked on the Netflix series The Sandman, in which Coleman has a recurring role.
Coleman was previously in a relationship with the Game of Thrones and Bodyguard actor Richard Madden from 2011 to 2015.
The actress has previously joked that she was well acquainted with the trials of labour after playing Queen Victoria – who had nine children – in the ITV series of the same name.
Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, she explained that she had started to watch the reality television series One Born Every Minute after “running out of noises” to use.
She said: “I try to [change it up] … I’ve just given birth to the seventh child now. And there is still no pain relief as of yet either [in the era Victoria is set].
“To be honest, I find if I build up adrenaline and then don’t think about it. Then watching it back, I think I sounded like a sheep on one thing that I saw.
“I’d just have loads of caffeine and then get really built up. I’m sure, one day maybe if I ever give birth, I’ll realise I was totally wrong.”
