Selena Gomez gave what she called on Instagram "one of my favorite interviews of my life! [To] the queen herself!" on the Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday when Jennifer Aniston guest-hosted. Gomez spent a bit of time gushing about Friends and her obsession with Rachel Green, and then the two broke down their first meeting...in a bathroom. Gomez remembers it better than Aniston.

Aniston started by revealing details about their friendship these days. "You’ve always been so sweet," she said. "You really are a genuine [Friends] fan. It’s amazing. We’ve known each other for years. You’ve been to my house. We’ve had pizza. Girl after my own heart, do we love a pizza or what? We love a pizza."

"Yes, we do," Gomez added.

"It’s so much fun. I was told that you recall us meeting for the first time in a bathroom," Aniston said. Gomez said yes, and Aniston asked her to remind her where.

"Well, nobody knew who I was, and you were in the bathroom, wearing a black dress," Gomez started.

"Okay, weird," Aniston, who frequently wears black dresses, joked.

"And I think we were at Vanity Fair something event, and I was there with my mom, and I walked into the bathroom and I saw you, and you were just like so nice," Gomez said. "You just walked out of the bathroom and you were going back, and my heart like, stopped. And I freaked out and I ran to my mom and I was like, ‘oh my god, I just saw Jennifer Aniston.’ I was like, ‘oh my god.’"

"Did I say hello? Did we have a pleasantry? [I was] washing my hands, I hope," Aniston cracked.

"Yeah, you were fine. You were everything that I wanted," Gomez said.

"Bless your heart," Aniston ended.

The two also briefly discussed Gomez's new album Rare along with Gomez's decision to release such a personal song about her Justin Bieber heartbreak, "Lose You to Love Me." They never talked about the breakup or ex explicitly, of course; they were just subtle enough for daytime television.

Aniston started, "I mean I have say ‘Lose You to Love Me’, that’s a very revealing song. And it is nerve-racking when you’re putting your heart out there. And yet it always seems to pay off because that’s what people really respond to, is your authenticity, your beauty, and your honesty."

"Well, I appreciate that, and I think that was the whole point," Gomez responded. "You know, when I was younger, I felt like it was weakness to be vulnerable and to share my heart with people and I realized that everybody else seemed to be narrating my life for me so why don’t I put something out that is my side of the story? It’s not hateful or anything. It’s simply a beautiful moment to let go of and I was really, really proud of it."
