A plane carrying Friends stars Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox had to make an emergency landing on Friday (February 15), it has been reported. And no, it's not because Ross wanted to make a declaration of undying love.

E! News states that the actresses, along with Molly Kimmel, were on a private jet bound for Cabo for a weekend of birthday celebrations.

The publication quotes the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) as saying that the plane "lost a wheel or tire while departing from LAX".

"The aircraft departed without incident and circled near Ontario International Airport (ONT) to burn fuel," the statement continued.

"The plane landed at ONT without incident, with the gear down, shortly after 2 pm."

Reports add that the plane made it down to Mexican airspace but turned around back to Ontario, California after crew members deemed it wasn't safe to land. Thankfully, the plane ultimately landed safely, and the stars boarded another plane bound for Cabo later in the day.

The cast of Friends have been dogged by rumours and questions about a reunion for years now, with the industry's obsession with revivals and reboots only adding to that fire.

Aniston addressed all the speculation last year, saying: "Listen, the girls always say we would love to do it again, and the boys are a little less excited about it for some reason - I don’t know.

"And so, we’ve decided that we’ll just do… a remake of The Golden Girls in 40 years."

It was also revealed last year that Aniston's character Rachel was only actually meant to be in five episodes before being written out but, fortunately for all of us, that never happened.

Friends is available to stream on Netflix, and it's not leaving anytime soon.
