Yahoo News Jennifer Garner explains why working with Game of Thrones star was “wonderful”
The Last Thing He Told Me star Jennifer Garner has described working with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as a “wonderful” experience.
The pair play Hannah Hall and Owen Michaels on the Apple TV+ series, which follows Garner’s character as she searches for answers about the whereabouts of her missing husband.
In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, Garner paid tribute to her co-star, who made his name as Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones.

“Nikolaj was so wonderful. He’s so game,” said Garner. “We started with intimacy training, [which] can be quite awkward. We did not know each other at all - we had never spoken, [but] the moment we started I could feel him just relax into it.
“We both started laughing. We’re standing this close, with our eyes closed, and he started laughing,” she added. “And I just thought: ‘OK, we’re going to be fine.’ And we really were. He’s just become very dear to me. He’s a wonderful, wonderful actor and man.”
Garner, who was recently announced to be starring in body-swap comedy Family Leave, spoke further about the thriller series, paying tribute to the cast and crew.
“It was one of the most fulfilling collaborations I’ve ever been part of. Laura Dave, the author of the book, and Josh Singer, our showrunner and Oscar-winning screenwriter – the two of them together just really invited me into their process early on,” she said.

“I had a lot of time to prep, and I used it all. I used it with my acting coach. I worked with a vocal coach so that I could lower the register of my voice. I turned wood many hours a week.
“I sat with Josh and Laura - we read through the script and tore it apart. [We] talked about it and looked at the book, and then went back [and forth] for hours every week. The luxury of that – I just felt like it informed the entire production,” she added.
