According to sources, the pair are still amicable and when they were spotted together at the Governors Awards in Los Angeles on 11 November they had already separated.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the insider revealed that Jennifer and Darren were still happy to sit together despite breaking up, with things not being “awkward” between the two stars.
Jennifer, 27, recently admitted that she’d had a crush on Darren long before they worked together on ‘Mother!’, which was released earlier this year.
She explained: “I had a crush on him when he pitched to me, and that was like a year before we started rehearsing, but he was a professional, which only made it worse for me.
“We just kind of formed a friendship. He knew how I felt. He never told me how he felt. I mean, I assumed.
“We just formed a friendship and then the friendship turned into a partnership for the movie, once we started working. And then once the movie was done, I was like, ‘All right! You’re my boyfriend.'”
Darren, 48, has an 11-year-old son with his former partner, Rachel Weisz, and Jennifer also credited the star for not ever leaving her “confused” during their romance.
The actress, who has previously dated Nicholas Hoult and Chris Martin, continued: “For the past year, I’ve been dealing with him as just a human.
“I’ve been in relationships before where I am just confused. And I’m never confused with him.”
