Jennifer Lopez Reportedly Never Liked the $68M Home She Shared With Ben Affleck
Sources say it was a “major compromise.”
The huge mansion that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck shared before she filed for divorce is at the center of another revelation in the couple's relationship. According to insiders, the lavish home was a "major compromise" for Lopez, who didn't like the style of the home and was swayed by Affleck's excitement about how their families could kick back together at the sprawling home.
"The $68 million mansion was Ben’s idea and a major compromise for her," a source told People. "She agreed to it because of its spacious layout, accommodating both their families, a gym and a pickleball court, office space, plus it has two private entrances."
The home included 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms and spanned 38,000 square feet. However, it boasted a modern, contemporary style that Lopez just didn't vibe with.
"She loves the romantic, Spanish, European vibe," People's source added.
Another insider countered claims that Ben was enamored by the house. Apparently, he was annoyed by its location and how far it was from his children. When he rented a home in the summer, it was in Brentwood, closer to his kids.
“His life’s in Brentwood. His kids live there," the source says. "It was such a pain and time-consuming for Ben to navigate traffic from their house. He never liked it.”
Affleck recently purchased a new house for himself for $20.5 million. As for where Lopez will be living, the star has been looking for a new home since April, People notes.
"Jen is being shown houses," a source shared before explaining that she hasn't found the right one just yet.
