Jennifer Lopez says that her ‘diva’ reputation is undeserved and no more than an example of Hollywood’s double standards.

Talking about the label that has dogged her since she launched her pop career in the 90s, JLo says that if she were a man, it would never have stuck as it did.

“I’ve always been fascinated by how much more well-behaved we have to be than men,” Jen said in the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter.

“I got a moniker of being ‘the diva’, which I never felt I deserved - which I don’t deserve — because I’ve always been a hard worker, on time, doing what I’m supposed to do, and getting that label because you reach a certain amount of success.”

The pop star went on to say that she found it ‘fascinating’ seeing what she believes a man can get away with compared to women in her industry.

“I was always fascinated by how I could see [a man] being late or being belligerent to a crew and it being totally acceptable; meanwhile, I’d show up 15 minutes late and be berated,” she added.

“And you watch this happen over and over and over again.”

An alleged leaked rider of Jenifer’s once revealed that she requires everything in her dressing room to be white – including sofas, drapes and walls - with room temperature Evian water available and strictly white lillies.

According to Business Insider, she also refused to sit on any toilet seat other than germ-resistant ones custom-made for her.
