Jennifer Lopez's Sister Lynda Visits Violet Affleck at Yale amid the Singer's Divorce from Ben Affleck

The journalist shared a sweet snap of her with the college student as they walked around campus together

Jennifer Lopez's sister Lynda is spending some quality time with her step-niece, Violet Affleck.

On Sunday, Nov. 3, the journalist, 53, shared a few photos on her Instagram after she visited the college student, 18, at Yale University. In one sweet photo, the two smile together as Violet snaps a selfie, wearing a white Patagonia puffer jacket.

Lynda can be seen placing a hand on Violet's shoulder, smiling as the duo poses together. The author also included a few other photos around campus, showcasing the fall leaves. "New Haven with my favorite Yalie! 💙," Lynda wrote in her caption.

Lynda's visit to Yale comes after the "On the Floor" singer, 55, filed for divorce from Violet's dad Ben Affleck, 52, in August.

Lopez filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court and listed April 26, 2024, as the date of separation.

At the time, a source told PEOPLE that her kids and Affleck's kids were the couple's top priority.

"She tried really hard to make things work, and is heartbroken," the source said. “The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”

In July, Lopez was photographed enjoying a bike ride in the Hamptons with friends, as well as Violet. Their outing came on the same day they were spotted walking arm-in-arm in Southampton.

Although there was tension in Lopez and Affleck's relationship at the time, Lopez and Violet "really enjoy each other's company," a source told PEOPLE. "They both seem so happy to be spending this time together, and are just enjoying the moment," the insider added.

Earlier that month, Lopez shared a short video on her Instagram Stories of her and Violet having a summertime car ride. The teenager — who was accompanied by her best friend, Cassidey Fralin — could be seen sitting in the back of the car peering out of the window, while Lopez beamed in the front seat with the sunroof open.

The actress decorated the clip with a "summertime" sticker and added an audio clip from "Girls" by Kid LAROI.
