Jennifer Saunders And Joanna Lumley Rule Out Strictly Come Dancing

In case you’ve somehow managed to miss all the excitement, Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley have been busy promoting their highly anticipated new film, Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie.

But while the film’s premiere was full of glitz, glamour and sparkle, the pair have admitted that they’re steering well clear of a different type of glitzy world - Strictly Come Dancing.

Speaking to The Sun, the dynamic duo admitted they’d been asked ‘many times’ to pop on their dancing shoes and waltz around the Strictly floor, but would ‘never’ consider actually saying yes.

Joanna explained: “I wouldn’t even get the poor old granny vote,” while Jennifer added: “I’ve seen enough people who dance tragic to know it’s not for me.”

Though she may not want to take part in the show, Jennifer praised Strictly judge Bruno Tonioli for his cameo in their film, revealing: “He’s got crazy energy. In the middle of this film he was still flying to America and back.

“He’s such a darling. It’s this discipline in dancers — which we see in Kate Moss — to be there on time, to keep your shape, to do it right. No matter how, you turn up on time to look perfect and move perfect.”
