Jeremie Frimpong is set to land Celtic millions this summer as Bayer Leverkusen prepare to sell the full-back.

The newly-crowned Bundesliga champions confirmed this week that they will have to sell at least one of their first-team stars in a bid to ensure they have cash for manager Xabi Alonso to spend in the summer's transfer window. The Spaniard will be desperate to retain the championship next season and will need reinforcements to make that happen.

Frimpong, 23, has admirers across Europe with Manchester United reportedly already in talks with his club about the £34million release clause he has in his contract.

Leverkusen chief executive Fernando Carro has confessed that the club will have to sanction one sale and Celts will hope it's Frimpong they let go with a reported 30 percent sell-on agreement waiting to be cashed in.

Carro said: "Every year we need to sell one big player to find budget for new signings. So, probably we will sell one player. We're planning to sign two or three players with that amount of money."
