Jeremy Clarkson has been forced to issue a statement after a number of fans piled onto social media complaining they hadn't been to secure Christmas bookings at his pub. The Grand Tour star's pub, The Farmer's Dog, had been boasting about its festive menu, but many seemingly struggled to book a place.

In promotional posts for the Christmas dinners, the pub had proudly boasted its £40 per head three-course menu featured "all locally sourced and reared British farmed food". However, the price left many without a reservation in utter despair, reports the Express.

Many flocked online to vent their frustration at Jeremy and the pub. One said: "Tried every date in December - nothing available. Nothing in November either." A second said: "How is there no tables already?"

Luckily, for many Jeremy issued a good news statement to disappointed fans, confirming that more spots will be made available due to the overwhelming interest. The statement said: "We've had lots of comments about the pub being fully booked - so we have just released more bookings for Christmas - hurry to our website if you want to join us to enjoy Jeremy's Christmas menu."

The Farmer's Dog lies at the centre of the picturesque Cotswolds and has swiftly accumulated over 250,000 followers online. It means that those wanting to take advantage of the new availability need to be quick on their feet post-announcement.

Some are still reportedly struggling to book spots. One said: "Still can't find a free date." A second said: "Still nothing."

However, it wasn’t gloom for everyone as one happy customer shared: "So glad I saw this, booked a table for the wife and I when we visit home."

The Christmas menu, set to be enjoyed from Monday, December 2 to Tuesday, December 24, features a selection of three appetising starters accompanied by delicious sourdough bread sourced from the Cotswolds. Starters include scotch broth with crispy kale, main courses include a classic festive turkey breast complemented by pigs in blankets, sage and onion stuffing, and roast potatoes. Dessert options include Beauvale blue cheese and quince jelly, warm treacle tart laced with whisky mascarpone and apple syrup, or a delectable damson bread and butter pudding served with Cotswold ice cream.
