Jeremy Kyle is to spend his summer filling in for Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain.

The talk show host will be joined on presenting duties by Richard Madeley and Eamonn Holmes.

Morgan and Reid, who present the ITV breakfast show on Mondays through to Wednesdays, finished for the summer earlier this week.

Jeremy Kyle will be presenting alongside regular GMB anchor Kate Garraway from Monday, August 7 – Wednesday, August 9, and for the following two weeks.

It’s not the first time Kyle has stepped in for the GMB team, he last guest-presented the show during the 2016 Easter holidays.

“I’m really looking forward to being back on GMB this August to wake the nation up over the summer holidays,” he said, adding: “Now all I need to do is find my alarm clock!”

Meanwhile Richard Madeley, presenting without his usual hosting partner, wife Judy, will appear on the show on Thursday, August 17 and Friday August 18, and various other dates throughout August.

The presenter, who was once part of the This Morning Team, promised to use his stint as Morgan’s replacement to 'wind up' the 52-year-old.

“I've known Piers for 30 years so sitting in for him on GMB is an excellent opportunity to gather some inside information on him which I will unhesitatingly use to wind him up afterwards,” he said.

“Seriously though, I'm looking forward to it immensely and after all those years on This Morning the early starts will seem like old times.”

GMB regular Eamonn Holmes will present alongside Charlotte Hawkins from Monday, July 31 – Wednesday, August 2.

The news comes after Morgan hinted that he might not return to present the breakfast show after the summer.

The presenter teased: “Can’t say too much. But look at this face, happy face. Got out of bed at 3:45 today, oh it felt good. Do you know why it felt good? Never again. Ever. Never getting out of bed at 3:45 again.”

Good Morning Britain continues at 6.00am on weekdays.
