WATCH: Jeremy McConnell carries out a paternity test live on This Morning

Just when you start to think that maybe Jeremy McConnell and Stephanie Davis will stop airing their dirty laundry in public, Jezza goes and does something like carry out a paternity test on live TV and proves us wrong.

The Irish reality star carried out the DNA test live on This Morning in a bid to find out once and for all if he is the father of Stephanie’s newborn son, Caben-Albi.

Hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby insisted that they weren’t interested in the results but were taking action in a bid to “mediate” tensions between the two stars.

Phillip explained: “TV use a very reputable company so we’ve acted as a mediator here.

“We don’t want to know the results, we don’t want anything to do with it other than the fact you can say you’ve had the DNA test.

“The nurse came in this morning, that will now be sent off to the lab and will be held there securely.”

Jeremy claims Stephanie won’t get Caben tested unless he signs an ‘unreasonable’ contract.

Unfortunately, Jeremy’s drastic measures don’t necessarily mean that he will get answers as Stephanie hasn’t agreed for Caben to have the test done, apparently demanding that Jeremy signed an “unreasonable” contract before she’ll agree to have the baby swabbed by nurses.

Jez, who met Stephanie on last January’s series of Celebrity Big Brother, has lashed out at the former Hollyoaks actress, insisting that he’d happily step up to the plate if he is Caben’s father, but Steph’s difficult behaviour is preventing him from doing so.

He explained: “If he is my flesh and blood then I will step up to my responsibilities. I want to step up to the plate but I’m not being given that opportunity at the moment, my hands are tied.

“She banned me from the birth. There was no contact though. My responsibility as a father starts when the baby is born.

Baby Caben’s first weeks have been surrounded by drama.

“I don’t owe anything to Steph. If she had asked me to be at the birth then I would have been there 100 per cent.

“We broke up at the end of April and it was closer to the end of May that I found out she was pregnant. She called me and said she’d just done a blood test and found out she was pregnant.

“There was a lot of mixed emotions going through my head at that point but obviously when you break up with someone you have lingering feelings and you’re texting and you’re calling them and there was certain activity I wasn’t happy.

“The reason I didn’t get back with her and supported her through the pregnancy was because the relationship was so toxic and I just wasn’t putting myself, her and the baby at risk of anything.”

Jeremy also claims that he never denied that Caben was his, but he has doubts as Stephanie “was with other men in the first two weeks of April”, he also added that he feels the star is using the baby to “defame” him.

Stephanie has not responded to Jeremy’s very public call for a paternity test.
