The Paramount+ show started its second season over the weekend (January 15), though it appears that a promotional poster showing a bloodied Renner has been toned down out of respect for the star.
The Marvel actor was involved in a snow plough accident on January 1, suffering major blood loss after the plough ran over one of his legs. He was taken to hospital and underwent surgery following the accident.
"We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd 2023," his family said at the time.
"Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families."
The statement continued: "They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans."
It has since been confirmed that Renner has been released from hospital, the star tweeting on January 17 of the Mayor of Kingstown season 2 premiere: "Outside my brain fog in recovery, I was very excited to watch episode 201 with my family at home."
While being cared for in hospital, Renner regularly updated fans on his condition, while his sister recently said of his progress: "We are so thrilled with his progress. If anyone knows Jeremy, he is a fighter and doesn't mess around."
She added to People: "He is crushing all the progress goals. We couldn't feel more positive about the road ahead."
