The spouse of the former BBC presenter and ex-Newcastle United footballer Jermaine Jenas has spoken out for the first time since he was dismissed from his role at the broadcaster.

Jenas, who had been a familiar face on The One Show and a regular pundit on Match of the Day, saw his contract with the BBC terminated amid allegations of sending unsolicited inappropriate messages to a female employee. The 41 year old later confessed to concealing these indiscretions from his wife.

Married to former model Ellie Penfold since 2011, the couple have two daughters and a son.

Almost a month after the scandal, Ellie Penfold has come forward, not to discuss the controversy surrounding her husband, but to announce "something very special" she's been developing over the past three years. While she hasn't directly commented on her husband's actions, her Instagram bio, which reads 'mother and a wife', suggests she may yet stand by him, reports the Daily Star.

Ellie has launched Preppy Skin, a personal care brand targeting children and teenagers. Sharing on Instagram, she expressed: "As a mother of 4, I knew that there was a gap for something immersive, fun but also (and most importantly to my eldest). Has to look amazing for her Get ready with me routines! ".

"The collection begins with personal care products, with an incredible pipeline of future products. Every product has been tried, tested and approved from the packaging, scents, formulations, and of course the name PREPPY! ! We can not wait to finally launch this brand, and reveal all next month! ".
