Snow accumulated across Jerusalem on January 27 after a cold front moved across the eastern Mediterranean, blanketing holy sites like the Al-Aqsa mosque and Damascus Gate.

According to local news reports, a severe weather system, dubbed “Elpis,” swept through the north of Israel on Wednesday, with snow accumulating in Jerusalem in the evening.

A severe snow warning was issued by the Israel Meteorological Service, with “at least 10 centimeters” (about 4 inches) piling up overnight, according to The Times of Israel.
