Yahoo News Man arrested after attempting to break in to office of MP Jess Phillips
West Midlands Police have reportedly arrested a man who attempted to break into an MP’s office in Birmingham.
Labour MP Jess Phillips said a man was arrested attempting to break in to her constituency office on Thursday afternoon.
Ms Phillips said the man “smashed windows” and “kicked the door” before he was stopped by police.
He was allegedly shouting the politician was a “fascist” as he was caught on the premises.
Staff working for the Labour MP were locked in her office at the time of the incident.
Ms Phillips told LBC Radio: “I’ve only just heard about it myself but my staff had to be locked into my office while the man tried to smash the windows and kick the door, I believe.

“I don’t know what I can say because the man has been arrested.”
Ms Phillips was in the Commons on Thursday, where she called for Boris Johnson to apologise for connecting Brexit and the murder of MP Jo Cox.
Ms Phillips said: "When I hear of my friend's murder described as 'humbug', I actually don't feel anger for the PM. I feel pity for those of you who have to tow his line"
The Labour MP also told the Commons she had received a death threat that had “quoted Boris Johnson”.
While asking a question in Parliament, she said: “I have had a death threat this week that literally quoted the prime minister and used the prime minister’s name and words in a death threat that was delivered to my staff.
The threat read: “It was rather prophetic that Boris Johnson should say ‘I would rather be found dead in a ditch.’ That is what will happen to those who do not deliver Brexit.”
