Jesse Williams and ‘Fellow Travelers’ Creator Ron Nyswaner to Present at Project Angel Food Gala
Project Angel Food is holding a spot for Jesse Williams, Fellow Travelers creator Ron Nyswaner, Sandra Lee, chef Stuart O’Keeffe and Jeremy Piven at its upcoming Angel Awards gala.
Taking place at Milk Studios in Hollywood on Saturday, Sept. 28, the event will mark the organization’s 35th anniversary while shining a light on Debbie Allen (Humanitarian Award), Matt Bomer (Angel Award) and L.A. Care Health Plan and its CEO John Baackes (Sheryl Lee Ralph Legacy Award).

Williams will be on hand to present to onetime Grey’s Anatomy colleague Allen, while Nyswaner will offer up a tribute to his Emmy-nominated star and executive producer from the critically acclaimed Showtime series. Lee and chef Stuart O’Keeffe will present the Sheryl Lee Ralph Legacy Award to L.A. Care Health Plan and Baackes.
Jeremy Piven, who recently starred in and produced The Performance, will pay tribute to Project Angel Food on its milestone anniversary. The program also features a performance by Deborah Cox and participation from Emily Osment, Harry Hamlin, Loni Love, Rachel Lindsay, Juan Pablo Di Pace, Tim Bagley, Cheryl Tiegs, Amy Phillips, Lauren Tom, Tai Babilonia and Lisa Stanley.
Celebrity auctioneer and food guru Billy Harris has been tapped to lead a live auction. Items on offer this weekend will include an exclusive dinner with Bomer at Steak 48 Beverly Hills, Hamlin and Lisa Rinna cooking pasta bolognese in the winning bidder’s kitchen, and a private dinner with acclaimed L.A. chef Nancy Silverton in her Jack Warner Room nestled between Pizzeria Mozza and Osteria Mozza, among others.
The Angel Awards are presented thanks to support from presenting sponsor L.A. Care Health Plan and title sponsor Wells Fargo. The org prepares and delivers more than 1.5 million medically tailored meals to 5,272 critically ill individuals in Los Angeles County each year.
