Jet2 launches 'biggest ever' summer programme from Newcastle Airport for 2026 with five new summer routes
Jet2 has launched its "biggest ever" summer programme for 2026 with more than 40 destinations available to book, five of which are new.
The airline has become the first to put its programme for summer 2026 on sale, and says it will offer more seats, routes and choice to North East holidaymakers. 1.3 million seats have gone on sale, representing a capacity increase of more than 11% when compared to summer 2025.
The new routes, include four brand-new services and one weekly service operating for the first time in summer. The five routes are a weekly service to Agadir, Morocco; weekly service to Preveza, Greece; weekly services to Marrakech; twice-weekly services to Porto; and twice-weekly services to Barcelona.

In addition to the new routes, the airline and tour operator has increased capacity for six of its most popular destinations; Malaga, Alicante, Dubrovnik, Faro, Rome and Girona. During the period, more than 130 weekly Jet2 flights will depart from Newcastle Airport.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2Holidays, said that the company was reacting to "strong demand" from holidaymakers who want to book ahead and secure their holidays early. He said: "While we may be announcing our biggest Summer 26 programme to date from Newcastle International Airport, we are not done yet and will be revealing even more good news about our 2026 operations from the airport very soon.
"Our Summer 26 programme promises to be our best yet, and we have every confidence it will be a huge success."
The new programme for summer 2026 has seen Jet2 expand its operations from Newcastle Airport, with the company adding an extra aircraft to its fleet. Jet2's announcement comes after Newcastle Airport announced its best ever financial results, ahead of further investment this winter.
Leon McQuaid, director of aviation development at Newcastle Airport, said: "We’re delighted to see further investment from Jet2.com and Jet2holidays with the launch of its biggest ever summer programme from Newcastle Airport for 2026. Not only will passengers benefit from new Jet2.com and Jet2holidays services to Marrakech and Gdansk from October 2025, they will also be able to choose from four brand new destinations from the airline in Summer 2026."
