Jet2 reminds passengers of little-known check in hack available at Newcastle Airport
Jet2 has reminded customers of a handy check-in hack that they can take advantage of amid a surge in holiday bookings as Brits plan their getaways for the year.
The airline offers a service called Twilight Check-In, which promises to make morning flights "a whole lot easier" by taking away the stress of having to sort out your luggage on the day. This service allows you to drop your bags off at your departure airport between 4.30pm and 9pm the day before your flight if you are flying before midday, meaning all you will have to do the next day is turn up and go through security.
Ideal for anyone who lives close to the airport or is staying at a hotel nearby, Twilight Check-In is perfect for getting your holiday off to a stress-free start, and is available at 10 airports across the UK including Newcastle Airport. The service can also be used at Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow International, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, London Stansted and Manchester airports, BirminghamLive reports.

You don't need to book in advance to use Twilight Check-In, but you will need to make sure you have checked in to your flight online before you drop off your luggage. This will need to be done no later than 24 hours before your flight, but Jet2 recommends doing so as soon as online check-in opens 28 days before you travel.
Twilight Check-In is available seven days a week at the usual Jet2 desks in the participating airports, and one person in your travel party can drop off up to six people's bags - just remember to bring everyone's boarding passes and passports along. You do not need to bring any hand luggage when you are using Twilight Check-In, only bags that will be going in the plane hold and therefore need to be checked in.
Travellers have also been issued an urgent passport warning as new rule could see you turned away at airport. It comes as Spain are introducing new tourist laws which is set to have a big impact on Brits.
Jet2 isn't the only airline offering this type of service, with TUI also allowing passengers to drop off their luggage the day before they fly if their flight is before midday, although the airline only has this option at Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Gatwick and Manchester airports and only selected flights are eligible.

British Airways also offers an overnight bag drop service at London's Heathrow, Gatwick and City airports as well as Edinburgh Airport, while easyJet and Ryanair also have their own versions of the service at selected airports across the UK. So far, however, Jet2 is the only one of these major airlines offering the service at Newcastle Airport.
