Aston Villa's Premier League rivals West Ham United are readying a £35m move for striker Jhon Duran, according to reports. Duran is currently away representing Colombia at Copa America and has helped them to reach the semi-finals, where they'll play Uruguay on Thursday. Once that tournament culminates, Duran will be granted time off as his teammates return to Bodymoor Heath for pre-season training.

Duran, though, may not return to B6 full stop. The 20-year-old, who only arrived 18 months ago from Chicago Fire, has started just three Premier League games in that time but has managed to net eight goals - including a dramatic brace from the bench towards the end of last season in the 3-3 draw with Liverpool - in all competitions.

Duran, though, hasn't made a secret of his aspirations to move on. Indeed for much of this summer it was expected that the centre forward may arrive at the Irons' London rivals Chelsea, who were linked with a move that might've been worth up to £40m. Various reports on Tuesday have emerged, though, pointing to West Ham as the likeliest destination.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Villa could part with Duran in a deal worth £35m to the club, with the promise that they'd receive a 10% cut by well of a sell-on clause should Duran excel at the London Stadium and attract interest from the bigger clubs in Europe. It's been a particularly busy summer of ins and outs for Villa to date.

As well as selling Douglas Luiz and Tim Iroegbunam, they've also brought in Enzo Barrenechea, Samuel Iling-Junior, Ross Barkley, Ian Maatsen and Lewis Dobbin, while Leander Dendoncker, Cameron Archer and Kosta Nedeljkovic have also returned to Bodymoor Heath.

Villa's Philogene decision

Everton have agreed a fee with Hull City for former Villa winger Jaden Philogene - but the Lions could yet bring the player back to Villa Park if they saw fit. Philogene left Villa last summer and headed north to join the Championship Tigers in a deal worth around £5m. He excelled in the second tier and played a significant hand in helping them to a respectable seventh-placed finish.

It appears certain that Philogene will be departing the MKM Stadium this summer. Ipswich Town, who are also looking to snare his teammate Jacob Greaves to Portman Road, are interested too but it would appear as though Philogene could be heading to Goodison Park in a deal worth as much as £18m.

Villa, it transpires, have the option to match any fee agreed with Hull as part of their arrangement in selling Philogene last summer, but the clock is ticking on that opportunity. At any rate, Villa have already added wide players Maatsen and Iling-Junior this month and they could yet be busy strengthening their attack in the remainder of the window.
